Your volunteers will have other contacts that may contribute.

Contact possible locations that you can use without cost, some churches or other businesses may donate their space for your charity event. Have volunteers that are in charge of layout, decorations, sound, and lighting. Food or a catering service may also be donated by a business in exchange for marketing their company in the auction catalog or signage at the event.

Hire a professional auctioneer. Most charity auctioneers have different payment options that fit any budget and any size event. There is nothing that can replace a real auctioneer and nothing more important to a successful charity event. They are trained to help with the planning and arranging of the event and are fun and entertaining. Volunteers, and even local celebrities, do not have the skills necessary to auction at a charity event.

Announce and market the event!

Send out flyers, write about it on a Facebook Fan Page, send out evites, contact newspapers, submit online press releases, and tweet about it! Make sure all your volunteers and using their internet connections to promote the event amongst their circle of acquaintances.
